At HOPE PT, we believe that true healing begins when both the mind and body are treated as one. Dr. Chera Hope, Physical Therapist, and Erin Walker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, have partnered to create a comprehensive and compassionate program designed for individuals who have experienced emotional trauma and its physical effects.
Research continues to show that emotional trauma and prolonged stress can manifest physically—contributing to chronic pain, headaches, sleeplessness, pelvic floor dysfunction, and even chronic illness or disease. In traditional healthcare models, physical symptoms are often treated separately from emotional ones. Medical providers may focus on pain and function, while counselors address stress and trauma, leaving a gap between the two. At HOPE PT, we bridge that gap through an integrated, mind-body approach that promotes deep and lasting healing.
Your healing journey begins with an initial visit with Erin, who conducts a thorough intake and assessment of your physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Together, you’ll create a personalized treatment plantailored to your needs, preferences, and goals.
With your consent, Erin will collaborate not only with Dr. Chera Hope, but also with any other medical or wellness professionals currently involved in your care to ensure a seamless, supportive treatment experience.
During your second visit, Erin and Chera meet with you together to discuss your therapy goals and determine the most beneficial MEND frequency protocols for your specific situation. This collaborative process ensures that every aspect of your recovery—both physical and emotional—is addressed holistically.
Both Erin and Chera share a deep respect and appreciation for the military community. As a Marine Corps Veteran, Erinunderstands firsthand the unique challenges faced by service members and their families. Chera, a military spouse of retired Army Veteran Adrian Hope, brings personal insight and compassion to her care. Together, they are passionate about serving service members, veterans, and military spouses through a program rooted in understanding, respect, and hope.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of clinical and case management experience, Erin has served diverse populations in community, justice system, and military settings. Her passion lies in helping individuals navigate trauma and chronic pain through evidence-based and holistic care.
Erin is trained in several effective trauma and pain-focused therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Exposure, Relaxation, and Rescripting Therapy (ERRT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT).
Her therapeutic philosophy is comprehensive and collaborative—considering the emotional, physical, and environmental factors that shape a person’s well-being. Erin works closely with other providers to support her clients’ full and lasting recovery. She is deeply committed to helping every individual heal, grow, and live the life they deserve.
With more than 30 years of experience as a physical therapist, Dr. Chera Hope founded Hope Physical Therapy & Wellness in 2016 to provide a more holistic and personalized approach to pain management and overall wellness.
Over the past 15 years, Chera has extensively researched and trained in microcurrent therapy, proven to enhance healing and recovery by working with the body’s natural electrical frequencies. Since integrating microcurrent therapy into treatment, she has witnessed transformative results—particularly among clients with trauma histories.
Her partnership with Erin Walker represents a powerful step forward in offering whole-person care that addresses both the physical and emotional dimensions of healing. Chera is dedicated to walking alongside each client on their journey toward their healthiest, happiest self.
The HOPE PT Trauma Recovery Program was created to honor the connection between mind and body, science and compassion, and pain and recovery.
Through expert collaboration, personalized care, and a shared commitment to holistic healing, we’re here to help you reclaim your strength, restore balance, and rediscover hope.
