Chera Howard Hope, PT, DPT, MTC, CMTPT, Cerg

Chief Executive Officer and Director of Physical Therapy

Chera

I have been practicing Physical Therapy for, let’s just say, many years… and I am passionate about my profession! I have had the opportunity to travel and practice Physical Therapy around the U.S., El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic, working with newborns, special needs children, and adults of all ages. These experiences formed my dream of HOPE PT. I set out to create a holistic, outside of the box PT practice, with a warm and restorative environment for our patients AND our team. When you trust us with your care, you will never feel rushed, we will always listen, and we will offer individualized treatment plans geared to YOUR specific needs. I think you will agree with me, the moment you walk through our doors, you will feel HOPE!

My training has afforded me specialty certifications in Manual Therapy, Trigger Point Dry Needling, Ergonomics, and a Level 1 certification in Golf Rehabilitation through Titleist Performance Institute. I specialize in craniofacial/TMJ pain and headaches, as well as microcurrent modalities and scar release treatment. I love learning everything I can to promote a comprehensive and holistic approach to care.

I have a strong desire to stay connected with the Latin American communities where I lived and worked. I became inspired by the TOMS Shoe Company autobiography by Blake Mycoskie Start Something that Matters. Blake donates a pair of shoes to children in rural Latin American communities for every pair sold. This fueled my dream to create a Wellness Center that gives back to the communities that I love so much.

I am from Virginia, and although Virginia is a beautiful place to grow up, I have been drawn to Colorado since my 20’s. I have been blessed with two sons and an amazing husband who is a retired Lt. Colonel in the Army. I enjoy snow skiing, oil and watercolor painting, singing, hiking, camping with my fellas, rock climbing, and anything outdoors. I have a passion for helping people live their best lives!

I love working with Chera and Adrian and fully support the vision of HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness.

I grew up in NE Ohio but always knew I would live in sunny

Colorado after spending many summers exploring Rocky Mountain National Park with my parents (who followed me out here 17 years ago!) After graduation I moved across the country to Grand Junction for my first PT position more than 20 years ago working with traumatic brain injured and stroke patients. For the past several years I have focused more on patients with headaches/neck and back pain. I enjoy treating clients with neurological diagnoses as well as vertigo and general outpatient orthopedics. I also specialize in dry needling techniques and have seen many great results. I am passionate about working with our patients to achieve their goals! My husband Steve and I greatly appreciate the adventures and beauty of Colorado and have loved raising our sons, Joel and Luke, in this community. We enjoy hiking (dragging the boys), camping and skiing and while we adore our adopted home state we also have a passion to travel and explore new countries with and on special occasions without our boys.

Jessica Huffman

Physical Therapist

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am so excited to be a part of the team at HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness.

My family recently moved to Colorado Springs and as I was

searching for a job, I really wanted a place that put clients first. A place that allowed me to have good one-on-one time with my clients where neither of us felt rushed. A place that focused on the whole body and had a holistic approach to health. I am so happy to have found HOPE Physical Therapy because it has all that I was looking for and more! A little about me; I’m originally from a small town in central Texas. I attended college at the University of Texas (hook ’em horns!) with a major in athletic training. I then went straight to physical therapy school at Texas Woman’s University in Houston where I graduated in 2012. My first job was at Fort Hood in Texas where I worked with primarily active duty soldiers. I met my husband there and we were soon stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana where I worked at an outpatient PT clinic, seeing both civilian and active-duty patients. After our time at Fort Polk was complete, we were fortunate enough to get stationed in Germany for 4.5 years! There, I volunteered at the military hospital physical therapy clinic and spent as much free time as possible traveling. My husband and I were able to visit 30 countries! Our favorite activity while over there was hiking, especially in the Alps. I also had our sweet son over there and we affectionately now refer to him as “our little German.” When our time in Germany came to an end, we decided to move to Colorado Springs because we love the mountains, nature, and hiking! Again, I am so excited to be a part of HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness. I love this profession because it gives me a chance to help clients achieve their goals, whether it be to clean the house without pain or run the Pikes Peak marathon.

Macey Hickox

Physical Therapist

HOPE is home! With 10 years of experience as a physical therapist and being a military spouse, HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness in Colorado Springs is the best place to call my professional family

Working with athletes of all abilities and the military population (including veterans and their families) is my passion. My post-graduate education has included a Sports Residency, Tactical Fitness Facilitating, Nutrition Coaching, Dry Needle Specialization, Pelvic Health Certification, and YogaFaith Training. I take great joy in seeing the holistic picture of a patient’s health journey. Striving to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and lifestyle wellness, I hope to equip you with the tools to live your healthiest life. With our growing family of 4 small children, my husband and I love getting outdoors (when able) for hiking, skiing/snowboarding, golfing, tennis, and volleyball. Our other hobbies include country swing dancing and smoking delicious meals on the grill.

Emma Wachter

Physical Therapist

Hi there!  I am an Iowa native (Go Hawks!), who recently moved to the Springs in 2024.

I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA.

Since being in the profession, I have become passionate about geriatric care, chronic pain, & all things women’s health. I am proud to be a part of the pelvic health team at HOPE & also have experience working in an intensive chronic pain clinic. I love to connect with people on a personal level and truly get to know their unique life stories.

Working at HOPE is a blessing; I highly value a shared mission of pursuing a holistic, evidence-based approach to treating patients as well as building valuable relationships with those that trust us with their care. In my free time, you can catch me hiking, reading a good book, watching sports, listening to podcasts, walking dogs or listening to some good Taylor Swift music. Can’t wait to meet you!

Marisa Morrison

Occupational Therapist

Hi, I’m Marisa! After obtaining my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and overseeing the fitness program at a senior living community, I found a passion for pelvic health therapy. I obtained my Doctorate of Occupational Therapy, and since then, I have had the pleasure of working with both males and females with bladder and bowel dysfunction and pelvic pain concerns. I completed my pelvic health coursework through Herman and Wallace and Integrated Pelvic Care.

I feel so grateful to encounter how truly incredible and resilient the human body is on a daily basis, and Hope has allowed me to continue the holistic, 1-on-1 care that I love to provide!

I am originally from just outside Chicago, but have lived in many places including Texas, Montana, and Michigan. I am excited to now call Colorado Springs home! In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, and visiting small mountain towns. I also enjoy visiting local bookstores, breweries, and planning my next state’s highest point hike. I cannot wait to work with you!

Devin Smith

Office Manager

I’m a proud father to three daughters — Auna, Ade, and Ava — and I strive to bring heart, dedication, and my Christian faith into everything I do. As a Colorado Springs native, I’ve had the honor of serving my community as a firefighter in this city for 14 years, learning the importance of leadership, integrity, and compassion. I have worked in the corporate world for too long, I want to work for a place that values their patients and treats everyone with care and dedication. I am excited to be a part of Hope Physical Therapy where they put service before self. Serving others and coming alongside my team to instill growth and success is what I enjoy doing. With over a decade of management experience, I’m passionate about building strong teams, leading with purpose, and creating positive, solution-driven environments. I’m excited to bring these strengths to Hope Physical Therapy & Wellness and to be part of a mission-driven team focused on giving back to the community and providing exceptional patient care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife, Melissa, and our blended family of six children and our farm of animals. We love exploring the outdoors, camping, fishing, traveling and I also enjoy sports cars — especially my Ford Mustang!

Amy Haile

Insurance & Authorizations Manager

I call North Carolina home even though I wasn’t born there. I am a Marine Corp brat and prior in the military. My family and I have strong ties to the military. The Air Force brought me here 16 years ago.

I have always been involved in medicine in some fashion, medical while active duty, I was with Penrose hospital for 11 years, clinical and administrative. I have also had a private practice as a Medical Support Hypnotherapist

I have been with Hope Physical Therapy and Wellness for over 5 years. Currently, I manage insurance eligibility and authorization. Hope Physical Therapy, along with all the team, is highly committed to providing the best outcomes for all our patients, it is truly our best goal. While we use a variety of modalities for best outcome, our use of frequency specific microcurrent is what fascinates me the most. I am so fortunate to be trained in that and love working with patients utilizing frequency for their best outcome. It achieves amazing results.

I have a variety of interests outside of work, mostly fiber hobbies, avid gardening, reader and hoarder of books, paddleboarding, and archery. I am a flight archer (think distance, not target). I hold 2 world records in my division. I have two daughters, one in the Coast Guard and one local.

Truly blessed to work with this amazing team.
