Functional Movement Screening

What is a Functional Movement Screen? The FMS is a tool used to assess fundamental movements, motor control, and competence of basic movements.  In short, it looks at how you move and helps to identify areas of concern or compensations that may contribute to injuries.  It is a test comprised of several movements to specifically test weaknesses, imbalances, asymmetries, and other limitations.

Gearing up for ski season, trying out for school sports, or just trying to stay active and pain-free?  The FMS can help.  Jackie Suarez-Murias, a doctor of physical therapy and board-certified orthopedic specialist, will run you through a series of movements to help identify areas to work on to help keep you moving and feeling your best.  Contact HOPE Physical Therapy today to schedule your appointment. 719-466-6800
