Chera Howard Hope, PT, DPT, MTC, CMTPT
Chief Executive Officer and Director of Physical Therapy
I have been practicing Physical Therapy for over 20 years and I absolutely love what I do! I have had the opportunity to travel and practice physical therapy around the U.S., El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic. These adventures have given me a diverse experience working with newborns, children and adults in many different settings. My training has afforded me a certification in manual therapy (MTC), trigger point dry needling (CMTPT) and a Level 1 certification in Golf Rehabilitation through Titleist Performance Institute.
I have a strong desire to stay connected with the Latin American communities that I lived and volunteered in. I read the Toms Shoe Company autobiography by Blake Mycoskie Start Something that Matters. Blake donates a pair of shoes to children in rural Latin American communities for every pair sold. This fueled my dream to create a Wellness Center that gives back to the communities that I love so much.
I am from Virginia, and although Virginia is a beautiful place to grow up, I have been drawn to Colorado since my 20’s. I have been blessed with two little boys and an amazing husband who manages the business side of our Wellness Center. I enjoy snow skiing, oil painting, singing, hiking, camping with my fellas, rock climbing, and anything outdoors. I have participated in a few 5 and 10 K races (now I only run if a bear is chasing me) and have competed in 2 sprint triathlons. I have a passion for helping people feel their best!
Roni Sorensen, PT
I love working with Chera and Adrian and fully support the vision of HOPE Physical Therapy and Wellness Center.
I grew up in NE Ohio but always knew I would live in sunny Colorado after spending many summers exploring Rocky Mountain National Park with my parents (who followed me out here 17 years ago!) After graduation I moved across the country to Grand Junction for my first PT position more than 20 years ago working with traumatic brain injured and stroke patients. For the past several years I have focused more on patients with headaches/neck and back pain. I also enjoy treating clients with neurological diagnoses as well as vertigo and general outpatient orthopedics. Last year I added dry needling to my treatment techniques and have seen many great results. I am passionate about working with our patients to achieve their goals!
My husband Steve and I greatly appreciate the adventures and beauty of Colorado and have loved raising our sons, Joel and Luke, in this community. We enjoy hiking (dragging the boys), camping and skiing and while we adore our adopted home state we also have a passion to travel and explore new countries with and on special occasions without our boys.
Emily J. Ladd, PT, OCS, CSCS, CMTPT
Greetings! I am thrilled to be in Colorado and a part of HOPE Physical Therapy and Wellness Center!
For over 20 years, I have been helping patients gain their full wellness potential by providing holistic and individualized care. My treatment style involves a one on one, hands-on approach, with emphasis on manual therapy to speed healing and improve function as quickly as possible.
I am passionate about empowering my patients to take an active role in their recovery, and help them establish tools to maintain their wellness. I am board certified in orthopedics, hold a certification in trigger point dry needling and strength and conditioning. I have advanced training in pelvic health care including therapy for pelvic pain, incontinence, digestive disorders, sexual disorders, and pre/post-partum conditions. Additionally, I use visceral and neural manipulation techniques, which allow me to effectively treat connections between the abdominal organs, nervous system, fascia, bones and muscles.
I practiced physical therapy in Oregon and Wisconsin before realizing our dream of moving to Colorado. My family is thrilled to live in this area, and plans to make the most out of local recreational opportunities including hiking, camping and skiing.

Adrian D. Hope
Director of Operations, CEEO (Chief Everything Else Officer)
Hey everyone! This is Adrian, and I love this place! I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After serving more than 20 years in the US Army, I now call Colorado Springs my home. I am so excited that my wife, Chera, elected for us to retire here. She had 51% of the vote and it turned out great for us to return to this wonderful community.
In May of 2017, I completed my Master of Business Administration degree from UCCS. It was an amazing experience and I met so many great people and professors. I utilize much of the knowledge gained in the MBA program in my day to day duties at HOPE Physical Therapy and Wellness Center.
I am excited for our future here! This is going to be such great experience for our boys. We are so excited to participate in the unlimited outdoor activities that this beautiful city and state have to offer.
Morgan Lavender, Float Tech
I am your go-to yoga gal and part time float tech. After graduating for Florida State University with a degree in Sport/Exercise Psychology, I received my yoga certification. Since then, I have been teaching yoga since 2016 to college students, kiddos, and communities around Florida and Colorado. I am a Florida girl, born and raised who is truly looking forward to (and maybe a little nervous about) the winters here in beautiful Colorado!
Currently, I am attending UCCS to earn a Master’s in Health Promotion. I am passionate about integrative medicine and learning how to create policies that encourage people to live their heathiest life. After I graduate, I plan on attending a doctoral program for physical therapy where I can combine my love for the body, physical movement, health, and healing. One day, my goal is to open an integrative medicine office that incorporates all aspects of wellness – nutrition, mental health, physical health, community health, and more!
I look forward to seeing you at HOPE! Together, we can practice balance, flexibility, strength, and focus at my weekly yoga classes. The classes will be a hatha flow and all levels are welcome! Bring your own mat and some friends to move with some folks in our community! See you soon!
Namaste, Morgan Lavender
