Chera Howard Hope, PT, DPT, MTC, CMTPT, Cerg
Chief Executive Officer and Director of Physical Therapy
I have been practicing Physical Therapy since 1995 and I am passionate about my profession! I have had the opportunity to travel and practice physical therapy around the U.S., El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic. These adventures have given me a diverse experience working with newborns, children and adults in many different settings. My training has afforded me a certification in manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, and a Level 1 certification in Golf Rehabilitation through Titleist Performance Institute. I specialize in craniofacial, TMJ pain and headaches, as well as scar release treatment. I am also Certified in Ergonomics, and can help you combat the stressors of computer use and help you maintain a healthy and balanced posture at work, and with all of your life activities. I love learning everything I can to promote a holistic approach to care.
I have a strong desire to stay connected with the Latin American communities where I lived and worked. I became inspired by the TOMS Shoe Company autobiography by Blake Mycoskie Start Something that Matters. Blake donates a pair of shoes to children in rural Latin American communities for every pair sold. This fueled my dream to create a Wellness Center that gives back to the communities that I love so much.
I am from Virginia, and although Virginia is a beautiful place to grow up, I have been drawn to Colorado since my 20’s. I have been blessed with two little boys and an amazing husband who manages the business side of our Wellness Center. I enjoy snow skiing, oil painting, singing, hiking, camping with my fellas, rock climbing, and anything outdoors. I have a passion for helping people feel their best!
Adrian D. Hope
Director of Operations, CEEO (Chief Everything Else Officer)
Hey everyone! This is Adrian, and I love this place! I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After serving more than 20 years in the US Army, I now call Colorado Springs my home. I am so excited that my wife, Chera, elected for us to retire here. She had 51% of the vote and it turned out great for us to return to this wonderful community.
In May of 2017, I completed my Master of Business Administration degree from UCCS. It was an amazing experience and I met so many great people and professors. I utilize much of the knowledge gained in the MBA program in my day-to-day duties at HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness.
I am excited for our future here! This is going to be such a great experience for our boys. We are so excited to participate in the unlimited outdoor activities that this beautiful city and state have to offer.
Roni Sorensen, PT
Physical Therapist
I love working with Chera and Adrian and fully support the vision of HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness.
I grew up in NE Ohio but always knew I would live in sunny Colorado after spending many summers exploring Rocky Mountain National Park with my parents (who followed me out here 17 years ago!) After graduation I moved across the country to Grand Junction for my first PT position more than 20 years ago working with traumatic brain injured and stroke patients. For the past several years I have focused more on patients with headaches/neck and back pain. I enjoy treating clients with neurological diagnoses as well as vertigo and general outpatient orthopedics. I also specialize in dry needling techniques and have seen many great results. I am passionate about working with our patients to achieve their goals!
My husband Steve and I greatly appreciate the adventures and beauty of Colorado and have loved raising our sons, Joel and Luke, in this community. We enjoy hiking (dragging the boys), camping and skiing and while we adore our adopted home state we also have a passion to travel and explore new countries with and on special occasions without our boys.
Jessica Huffman
Physical Therapist
Hello, my name is Jessica and I am so excited to be a part of the team at HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness. My family recently moved to Colorado Springs and as I was searching for a job, I really wanted a place that put clients first. A place that allowed me to have good one-on-one time with my clients where neither of us felt rushed. A place that focused on the whole body and had a holistic approach to health. I am so happy to have found Hope Physical Therapy because it has all that I was looking for and more!
A little about me; I’m originally from a small town in central Texas. I attended college at the University of Texas (hook ’em horns!) with a major in athletic training. I then went straight to physical therapy school at Texas Woman’s University in Houston where I graduated in 2012.
My first job was at Fort Hood in Texas where I worked with primarily active duty soldiers. I met my husband there and we were soon stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana where I worked at an outpatient PT clinic, seeing both civilian and active-duty patients. After our time at Fort Polk was complete, we were fortunate enough to get stationed in Germany for 4.5 years! There, I volunteered at the military hospital physical therapy clinic and spent as much free time as possible traveling. My husband and I were able to visit 30 countries! Our favorite activity while over there was hiking, especially in the Alps. I also had our sweet son over there and we affectionately now refer to him as “our little German.” When our time in Germany came to an end, we decided to move to Colorado Springs because we love the mountains, nature, and hiking! Again, I am so excited to be a part of HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness. I love this profession because it gives me a chance to help clients achieve their goals, whether it be to clean the house without pain or run the Pikes Peak marathon.
Macey Hickox, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
HOPE is home! With 10 years of experience as a physical therapist and being a military spouse, HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness in Colorado Springs is the best place to call my professional family.
Working with athletes of all abilities and the military population (including veterans and their families) is my passion. My post-graduate education has included a Sports Residency, Tactical Fitness Facilitating, Nutrition Coaching, Dry Needle Specialization, Pelvic Health Certification, and YogaFaith Training. I take great joy in seeing the holistic picture of a patient’s health journey. Striving to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and lifestyle wellness, I hope to equip you with the tools to live your healthiest life.
With our growing family of 3 small children, my husband and I love getting outdoors (when able) for hiking, skiing/snowboarding, golfing, tennis, and volleyball. Our other hobbies include country swing dancing and smoking delicious meals on the grill.
Kylee Hutchins, DPT
Physical Therapist
I could not be more excited to join the HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness team! I value taking a holistic, evidence-based approach to patient care, and am full of gratitude to have found a clinic that thrives on these same ideas.
I graduated from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2018 with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In 2021 I advanced my education with my Functional Dry Needling Specialist Certification. This training emphasized the powerful impact dry needling has on the Neuromyofascial System and the emotional interdependence between the brain and the body. Bottom line, it further instilled in me how important it is to take a holistic approach with patients. The majority of my experience is in outpatient orthopedics. I have had the privilege to work with athletes ranging from weekend warriors to the collegiate and professional levels. I also love working with patients who are wanting to get back to whatever their desired lifestyle may be! At the end of the day, I love helping others and my goal is to always give my best efforts to support my patients in achieving their goals.
I am in the process of becoming a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist, and am pursuing Pelvic Health training in the fall. In my time as a Physical Therapist, I have come to realize you cannot treat the whole human without a solid understanding of the Pelvic Floor. I am excited to dive into this specialty, especially in a clinic with colleagues to collaborate with and learn from! I am also in the process of becoming a yoga instructor – I will take every opportunity I can to advance my knowledge in holistic, wellness-based care!
Outside of my passion for Physical Therapy, I love going on adventures. I spend my free time climbing and canyoneering throughout Colorado and Utah.

Alysha Kimler
PT Assistant
Hello! I am so excited and honored to be a part of the HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness team. My background is in yoga instruction, with certifications in several modalities, and nearly 1000 hours of teaching experience. I’m also a senior at UCCS studying for a BA in exercise science. I have a passion for preventative, lifestyle management, and whole-body approaches to treatment. The next step for me is applying to a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. After shadowing Chera, I am now confident that a career in physical therapy can be as fulfilling as I ever dreamed it could be. Seeing how HOPE manages to merge traditional treatment techniques with holistic wellness has been an inspiration for me as I look toward my future. I feel extremely grateful for the opportunity to learn from such knowledgeable, experienced, and caring practitioners and to be immersed in such a health-conscious environment.
I’m a proud Colorado Springs native! My interests include spending time with my family and my dogs, especially when exploring our beautiful state. I love movement through yoga, dance, or hiking and I love to read (fantasy novels are my vice). I also appreciate any film, podcast, and documentary recommendations.
Amy Haile
Office Manager
I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group of people here at HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness.
A little bit about myself. The military has been a way of life for me since birth. I call North Carolina home, but I was born at Tripler Army Hospital in Hawaii. I had the opportunity to travel to the Philippines while my father was stationed at San Miguel. I have been with the Military my entire life and it was the Air Force that brought me to Colorado Springs, and I now call Colorado home.
My background is medical. After leaving the Military, I worked at Penrose hospital for 11 years. In addition to my work at HOPE, I am a certified Medical Support Clinical Hypnotherapist and I also offer auricular (ear) acupressure. I truly enjoy helping individuals reach their best potential in the best way for them.
I am an avid gardener, growing a wide variety of herbs and vegetables. I enjoy hiking where I tend to collect rocks and spend as much time as I can reading from the stacks of books I seem to have everywhere.
Noel Finta
Office Assistant
I am grateful to be a part of the team at HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness!
A little about myself: I grew up all over the world in a military family as well as serving in the US Air Force myself. Colorado became my home in 1995 and I have enjoyed all the state has offered. I began mountain, rock, and ice climbing in my mid-40s and have completed all of the Colorado 14ers (14,000-foot mountains in the state). When I am not outdoors hiking and climbing, I enjoy baking cookies and spending time with my four granddaughters.
I am a social butterfly and I love interacting and getting to know others. My joy is seeing people happy, healthy, and getting to do the things that they love to do in life.
Amy Baugh
Office Assistant
Hi, my name is Amy Baugh and I look forward to being on the HOPE office administration team! Colorado Springs has been home to me for many years, I even attended high school and college here. When it comes to work I truly enjoy engaging and working with the patients firsthand, I like to think of myself as a personable office admin. Here is a little more about me: I have been in the administrative field for 13 years and hold certificates in medical receptionist, billing, and coding. Physical Therapy is my passion because I get to share in the patients’ quest for improved health and wellness. I love to see when we have patients “graduate”!
When I am not working I am enjoying time with my 3 wonderful grandchildren who luckily all live in Colorado Springs! Caring for my handful of rescue cats is gratifying because I love all animals and want to help them to live their best lives, also!
Kristin Angelle
Patient Care Coordinator
Hello! I am so excited to be a part of the team at HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness!
The Army brought my husband and I to Colorado Springs in 2022. We loved it so much that we bought a house here and made it our home! Originally, I am from the Great State of Texas where I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Then, we were lucky enough to be stationed in Germany for three years where we were able to cultivate our love for traveling all around Europe. I have always had a passion for healthcare administration and after leaving the Army as a Captain in the Medical Corp, I went back to Texas to obtain a dual master’s degree in health and business administration. Now, I work every day interacting with patients and seeing them achieve amazing results!
In my free time, I am an avid reader, self-taught pianist, and beginner snowboarder. You will usually find me somewhere playing with my 5-year-old 90lb German Shepard puppy.
Kyla Gonzales
Marketing Coordinator
Hello everyone! I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the HOPE Physical Therapy & Wellness team! I discovered this phenomenal place as a patient a year or so after their opening. I was in a horrible auto accident and had a bad experience with the first physical therapy clinic I visited, so I received a referral to see Chera at HOPE Physical Therapy! I experienced relief quicker than I ever thought possible, she worked one-on-one with me regularly. Through the course of my visits, she learned of my experience in marketing and business. I initially supported the small business as the social media coordinator for their Float Center; since November 2018 I have supported HOPE with a number of systems to encourage their growth and increase patient education.
I am a Colorado Springs native and haven’t been able to get too far from this beautiful place, just yet! My experience is not in physical therapy but does include marketing & work in the health and wellness industry. I am passionate and love my city/ community and actively participate in it as much as possible whether it’s being a volunteer, shopping locally, or participating in community environmental efforts. In my free time, I enjoy working with indoor plants, embracing tiny-house living, and indulging in podcasts. The ongoing knowledge I receive from HOPE fuels me personally and professionally, so to join their team is truly an honor! Happy to be on the journey of #HOPE4Wellness
